Apple iPhone 5s
were launched last week using Apple A7 processor . This is the first chip based
on ARMv8 with 64 - bit data processing . While the iPhone 5 is still using the
A6 chip which is a 32 - bit processor .
64 - bit
processors are also used by the PC during the last decade , although it is both
different architectures . Advantages of 64 - bit processor compared to the 32 -
bit memory addressing , among others, the ability of ( RAM ) more than 4GB .
The majority of desktop and notebook PCs sold today still use 4GB of memory ,
despite the fact that already more than it can handle .
Similarly for
64 - bit ARMv8 alone has several advantages over the previous generation 32 -
bit . One is the number of registers that much more . Storage registers in the
chip is used by the processor stores the data to be accessed quickly . ARMv8
has a number of registers much more , from 16 in the previous generation to be
31 now . This speeds up data processing for access to memory ( RAM ) is
becoming more rare .
ARMv8 also have
better mathematical abilities , especially when performing the same operation
on many data. In addition , ARMv8 also has processing capabilities that will
accelerate the number of encryption for secure communications , thereby
reducing battery usage .
Advantages are
reflected in the test results as the iPhone 5S done by PCmag.com . Compared
with the iPhone 5 , LG G2 , and Samsung Galaxy S4 , iPhone 5S superior test
results to test the system performance , graphics performance , speed browsing
, and other tests .
For example
browsing speeds , significantly outperform other iPhone with a score of 3764 .
While the Galaxy S4 for the same test scores only generate 2498 , G2 2493 , and
the iPhone 5 in 2511 .
